A girl suffers from a rare condition that makes her unable to smile

The Daily Mail newspaper highlighted a three-year-old girl with a rare syndrome that makes her unable to smile because her facial muscles are not functioning properly.

Edison Garvey was born in Melville, New York, and suffered from a rare condition called MBIOS, a neurological disorder that affects muscles that control the expression of the face and eye movement and make it incapable of smiling.

It is known that this syndrome affects one in every 50,000 live births in the United States.

Edison's father, James, 36, and his 29-year-old wife, Jennifer, said it was painful for a girl to lose her smile, so we are now trying to raise funds for her cosmetic surgery to recover her smile again. From the top of Addison's face to the corners of her mouth, giving her the ability to smile for the first time in her life, and it enhances her ability to chew and swallow.

The parents hope to undergo plastic surgery in 2019, before the child enters kindergarten.
