Fear of laughter or attending a wedding may be as severe as illness
Some individuals are afraid to laugh and feel uncomfortable when they attend weddings. This makes them move away quickly and isolate themselves from everything that is pleasant and tends to isolate themselves from the sources of happiness, which is called "Shirophobia" or fear of happiness.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Shamy, Consultant Psychiatrist, said in remarks to "the seventh day", that the causes of chirophobia or fear of happiness is the human suffering of depression, which makes him isolated from society and permanent pessimism and refusing to attend weddings, as well as enter into emotional relationships, or for some other reason As a result of the nature of his character that tends to grief, and this is the result of his personality in adolescence and continue with him throughout his life, unless the personality has a willingness to change.
He added that the person suffering from depression needs to undergo psychotherapy sessions to treat depression and correct the concept of happiness. He pointed out that chirofobia has nothing to do with phobia.
He pointed out that the widespread belief among people, the fear of laughter and linking it to the occurrence of calamities, is a popular culture inherited, and has nothing to do with chirofobia and similar symptoms.
